About me
Welcome — I'm Lorain, a Person-Centred Counsellor
I’m a qualified and experienced Person-Centred Counsellor, dedicated to offering a safe, compassionate, and non-judgmental space where you can explore whatever is on your mind or heart.
Whether you're navigating anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, loss, or life transitions, my approach is flexible and always tailored to your unique needs. I'm here to listen, to support, and to help you find clarity and direction — at your own pace, and without pressure or judgment.
I believe that the therapeutic relationship itself can be a powerful tool for healing. By fostering a warm, trusting, and respectful environment, I strive to ensure that you feel genuinely heard and supported throughout our work together.
Reaching out for help can be a brave and sometimes daunting step. I deeply respect the courage it takes to begin this journey, and I am honoured to walk alongside you.
Who I Work With
I have experience supporting:
Young people
Clients with diagnosed or suspected ADHD and other forms of neurodiversity
Adults — particularly women — who have faced significant hardship, including domestic abuse
How I Work
Sessions are offered on a one-to-one basis. Together, we will explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences in a way that feels right for you. Whether you're seeking short-term support or a longer-term therapeutic relationship, my aim is to help you discover your inner resources for resilience, growth, and healing.
If you’re ready to take that first step — or if you simply have questions — please feel free to get in touch for an initial consultation.
Thank you for considering me as part of your journey. I look forward to working with you.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a trained Person-Centred Counsellor, I hold a CRB check, have professional insurance, and am a registered member of the BACP, working in alignment with the BACP framework. As part of my CPD am currently studying Level 5 Child Trauma and am enrolled in a Level 5 Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) course.
I have experience counselling individuals who have survived domestic abuse, including physical, mental, and sexual abuse. I also have experience supporting clients dealing with suicidal tendencies or ideation, with a particular focus on men’s mental health.
Recently, I’ve been working with young adults and teenagers, many of whom are diagnosed with or awaiting a diagnosis of ADHD or who show signs of being neurodiverse.
I specialise in supporting women during perimenopause and post-menopause, offering a compassionate and understanding space for them to express their feelings.
Above all, I provide a safe, confidential environment where clients can explore their concerns and work through their challenges with trust and support.
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
