About me

I am a qualified counsellor registered with the BACP- (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy)

I Practice Integrative counselling which combines cognitive, humanistic and psychodynamic methods of counselling as well as hypnotherapy. I offer an affordable service providing both long term and short term counselling to adults and on a one to one basis. I have been in private practice for 12 years working from a purpose built therapy room located in my garden, offering a safe confidential space. I offer a free 30 minute consultation either in person or by telephone to establish whether I am the right counsellor for you. My room is kept ventilated and is thoroughly sanitised between clients. I have had all vaccinations including booster to keep my clients as safe as possible. My aim is to make counselling available and affordable for everyone particularly at this time when free services are overwhelmed with long waiting lists. I also offer walking counselling in the beautiful green spaces around Ham, Richmond for those who are still wary of indoor contact. I can do home visits on request. I can offer weekend and evening appointments for those who work office hours.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a BTEC level 5 diploma in Integrative Therapeutic Counselling as well as a diploma in Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy and have worked in private practice for 12 years.

I have worked in various placements as a volunteer counsellor including the Place 2 Be counselling children, INS ( Integrated Neurological Services) counselling adults with neurological disorders such as Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis ect and Richmond Carers Centre, counselling adults caring for others.

I have experience working with disability and all types of diversity.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
