About me

A gentle space to begin

You don’t need a diagnosis or a crisis to begin therapy.

Whether you’re feeling anxious, overwhelmed, stuck, disconnected from yourself, or simply aware that something doesn’t feel quite right, I offer a calm, confidential and emotionally safe space where you can slow down, make sense of what’s happening, and reconnect with what matters to you.

Who I am

I’m Lisa — a counsellor offering online therapy across the UK and in-person counselling in central Grimsby, DN32. I hold a First Class BA (Hons) in Counselling, am an NCPS Accredited Registrant and Registered Member of the BACP, and am committed to safe, ethical and compassionate practice.

You’re welcome here.

How I work

My work is rooted in person-centred therapy, offering a warm, accepting and collaborative space where you can explore whatever feels heavy, confusing or difficult to put into words. We begin wherever you are, and move at a pace that feels right for you.

Alongside this foundation, I draw on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), supporting you to relate differently to difficult thoughts and emotions, reconnect with your values, and take gentle steps towards a life that feels more meaningful and aligned.

If words don’t come easily, that’s okay. You’re welcome to express yourself in whatever way feels right for you — through art, music, movement or silence. Together, we’ll find what feels most supportive.

What to expect in sessions

Therapy offers a confidential space that’s entirely yours — free from judgement, pressure or expectation. You don’t need to know where to start or arrive with everything figured out. We begin wherever you are.

Some people talk freely.

Some pause often.

Some don’t know what they need yet.

All of this is okay.

Our work is collaborative. You bring your lived experience, and I bring a grounded, compassionate presence. Together, we explore what feels important, what feels painful, and what feels possible.

I won’t push you into places you’re not ready to go, but neither will I sit back passively. I’ll walk alongside you, offering support, gentle curiosity and thoughtful observations that may help you hear yourself more clearly and make sense of your experience.

Over time, therapy can help you develop greater self-awareness, emotional clarity and a deeper connection with what matters most to you.

What we might explore

People come to therapy for many different reasons. You might be feeling anxious, low, overwhelmed, grieving, struggling in relationships, or carrying feelings of shame, guilt or self-doubt.

Sometimes these experiences can leave us feeling stuck, disconnected from ourselves, or unsure how to move forward.

Together, we can explore whatever feels important, with warmth, compassion and acceptance. There’s no pressure to talk about anything before you’re ready, and we move at a pace that feels right for you.

What it’s like to work with me

These reflections are shared with permission and offer a glimpse into how therapy with me can feel.

“I felt so relaxed and safe. I was struggling with my feelings, and you helped me put them into perspective. Afterwards, I felt a weight lifted. It’s like you had a magic wand.”

“Lisa created a space where I felt completely safe to open up and be honest about what I was feeling. She’s helped me understand my emotions, work through my trauma, and start to see myself with more kindness and hope.”

“What I appreciate most about Lisa is her genuine care. She listens without judgement and always seems to know how to guide me forward.”

Curious to learn more or ready to begin?

You’re warmly invited to visit my website or contact me directly by email or WhatsApp. You can book a free introductory call through my website or by clicking the ‘Book Intro Call’ button at the top of this profile.

A first conversation

Introductory calls are offered by telephone or video and provide a chance for us to connect. It’s a space for you to ask questions, share what’s bringing you to counselling, and get a feel for how I work.

There’s no pressure to commit and no need to have everything figured out. We won’t go deeply into your story at this stage. Instead, we’ll focus on what matters to you right now, what you’re hoping for, and whether working together feels like the right fit.

Whether you’re feeling uncertain, curious, or ready to begin, you’re welcome to arrive exactly as you are.
