About me
If you are feeling stuck, stressed, anxious or depressed talking to a therapist can really help. Having personal experience of therapy myself I know the huge difference it can make.
I am an Europe Approved EMDR Consultant and an EMDR Facilitator and use EMDR which is a proven, incredibly effective form of therapy and is the treatment of choice for PTSD and related problems derived from particularly challenging life event or events.
I am a fully accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist with the British Association of Cognitive and Behavioural Psychotherapy (BABCP) and offer Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for a range of conditions including anxiety and depression.
I am a senior accredited Counsellor with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and can offer short term solution focused therapy focusing on what you want to achieve based on the present and the future.
I offer Adult ADHD Assessment and ADHD Coaching, A person's education, employment, social life, self-esteem, and happiness can all be severely impacted by ADHD. Many adults with ADHD go without getting a diagnosis, which prevents them from getting the treatment that could change their lives.
Benefits of therapy
Therapy can help with a range of issues such as stress, loss, insomnia, depression, panic and a wide range of anxiety related conditions. It can also help with anger management and relationship problems. Perhaps you need some support to get you through a life event or you may just feel things are 'getting on top of you'.
I work with adults, young people and children (from aged 11 upwards), offering therapy appropriate to your needs. I can offer you a safe, non-judgemental space; a space that will be yours, where you will be listened to and where we can gain a clearer understanding of your life events and behaviours.
Clients can choose therapy either face to face, online or a combination of both, that may be helpful with busy lives, working away or convenience. Please feel free to contact me to arrange an initial assessment / consultation session on 07554 947 610 or email lisaslingsby@protonmail.com

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
The BABCP is the lead organisation for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy in the UK. Membership is open to anyone with an interest in the practice, theory or development of CBT. BABCP also provides accreditation for CBT therapists. BABCP accredited members adhere to the Standards of Conduct, Performance and Ethics in the Practice of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies, and are willing to be scrutinised in this adherence as required.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
