About me

**To advise that I am still open for clients during the Corona Virus and ONLINE SESSIONS are available either on VIDEO or TELEPHONE**

If you are feeling stuck, stressed, anxious or depressed talking to a therapist can really help. Having personal experience of therapy myself I know the huge difference it can make.

Therapy can help with a range of issues such as stress, loss, insomnia, depression, panic and a wide range of anxiety related conditions. It can also help with anger management and relationship problems.  Perhaps you need some support to get you through a life event or you may just feel things are 'getting on top of you'.

I work with adults, young people and children, offering therapy appropriate to your needs. I can offer you a safe, non-judgemental space; a space that will be yours, where you will be listened to and where we can gain a clearer understanding of your life events and behaviours.

Clients can choose therapy either face to face,  online or a combination of both, that may be helpful with busy lives, working away or convenience.

I am a fully accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist with the British Association of Cognitive and Behavioural Psychotherapy (BABCP) and offer Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for a range of conditions including:

  • Depression
  • Low Mood
  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
  • Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD)
  • Health Anxiety
  • Phobias
  • Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
  • Panic Disorder
  • Social Anxiety
  • Performance Anxiety
  • Situational Anxiety
  • Travel Anxiety

I am a senior accredited Counsellor with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and can offer short term solution focused therapy focusing on what you want to achieve based on the present and the future.

I am a Europe App
roved EMDR Practitioner and use EMDR which is a proven, incredibly effective form of therapy. EMDR is recommended by the National Institute for Health and Clinical Evidence (NICE) as the treatment of choice for PTSD and related problems derived from particularly challenging life event or events. I am a full Accredited Practitioner approved by the EMDR Association - UK and Ireland.

Limited early morning and limited late evening appointments are available allowing clients to fit in therapy with busy lifestyles.  I offer therapy either face to face or via the webcam (such as Skype / FaceTime).

Please feel free to contact me to arrange an initial assessment / consultation session on 07554 947 610 or email lisaslingsby@protonmail.com

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

BABCP

British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies

The BABCP is the lead organisation for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy in the UK.

Membership is open to anyone with an interest in the practice, theory or development of CBT. BABCP also provides accreditation for CBT therapists.

BABCP accredited members adhere to the Standards of Conduct, Performance and Ethics in the Practice of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies, and are willing to be scrutinised in this adherence as required.
