About me
Current availability: I have availability for remote sessions via Zoom or the phone, however my practice is currently full for face to face sessions.
Are you feeling stuck or lost - like you just don’t quite fit, no matter how hard you try? Maybe life feels like it’s moving on around you, while you’re standing still. Relationships might feel confusing or exhausting, or like something everyone else seems to find easy - but for you, it’s different. You might be wondering, “Why can’t I feel the way they do, or live the way they seem to?”
If any part of this touches your experience, you don’t have to carry it alone. I work alongside individuals processing trauma, abuse, LGBTQIA+ identity, and neurodivergent experience, helping them reconnect with their own strength and sense of self
Hi, I’m Lisa. My pronouns are She/Her. I’m a humanistic and integrative counsellor and psychotherapist, offering a warm, compassionate, down-to-earth space where you can explore what’s going on for you, at your pace, without pressure or judgement. I work with adults and young people, and I believe the relationship we build together is at the heart of the healing process.
Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, disconnected from yourself, or want support to navigate what's been happening, therapy with me can help.
How I work
My approach is relational and holistic - which means I see you as a whole person, not a list of symptoms or struggles. I work with both mind and body, gently supporting you to reconnect with yourself and what matters to you.
I have a special interest in working with people who feel like they’ve never quite ‘fitted in’ - those who are neurodivergent (diagnosed, self-identified or simply exploring), those who are part of the LGBTQIA+ community, or those living with the impacts of trauma or abuse. I understand how isolating and exhausting it can feel to move through a world that doesn’t always make space for your experience.
You might come to therapy for support with:
- Anxiety, low mood, or a general sense of not feeling good enough
- Exploring your identity, including gender, sexuality or neurodivergence
- The impact of trauma or abuse - past or recent
- Feeling disconnected from yourself or others
- Difficulties in relationships, family dynamics or parenting
- Just needing a safe place to talk, reflect, and be heard
However you arrive, we’ll work together in a way that feels supportive and right for you.
A bit more about me
Over the past few years, I’ve worked with adults and young people across a range of settings - including abuse recovery services, educational environments, and within health and social care. I have extensive experience supporting people with ADHD and ASC, as well as those navigating complex mental health challenges.
I offer short, medium or long-term therapy, depending on what you need. You don’t need to know that in advance - we’ll figure it out together.
Location & availability
I’m based at Edwinstowe House, which has free on-site parking and is accessible by public transport. Currently, I have more availability for online or telephone sessions, offering flexibility and comfort from your own space.
Sessions available Tuesday to Friday.
Ready to take the next step?
I offer a 15-minute phone or Zoom call so we can get a feel for whether working together feels like a good fit. There’s no pressure - just a chance to connect and ask any questions you might have.
You’re welcome to get in touch by email. I look forward to hearing from you.

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
