About me
My name is Lisa, and I am a qualified integrative counsellor. I understand that opening up about your thoughts and feelings can feel daunting. For many, the idea of counselling can bring up feelings of fear, embarrassment, or even a sense of weakness.
I am deeply passionate about the work I do and committed to helping challenge the stigma surrounding counselling. I believe therapy is a powerful form of self-care. While counselling can provide vital support during times of crisis, it can also be a proactive way to recognise when you may be struggling and need support.
In a safe, supportive, and non-judgemental environment, we can explore your experiences and the feelings connected to them. This process can help prevent difficulties from becoming overwhelming, while supporting you to better understand yourself and your needs. Whether you are feeling lonely, facing challenges in relationships, or experiencing a general sense of dissatisfaction, counselling offers a space to reflect, gain clarity, and move forward when you may feel stuck.
I also appreciate that a traditional counselling room may not feel comfortable for everyone. Alongside face-to-face and online sessions, I offer “walk and talk” therapy, where appropriate. These sessions take place outdoors, often in natural, peaceful surroundings. This approach combines the benefits of traditional therapy with the restorative effects of being in nature.
Training, qualifications & experience
Fully qualified counsellor and registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
