About me
Finding the right counsellor can feel overwhelming, with so many different approaches and practitioners to choose from, it’s completely understandable if you’re not sure where to start, or even what to look for in a counsellor.
As a Person-Centred Counsellor, my approach is built on connection and focuses on understanding the whole person, not just their difficulties. I aim to create a psychologically safe environment where you can explore your experiences and process difficult emotions without fear of judgement. My role is to offer a supportive, accepting space where you can feel genuinely heard and understood, allowing you to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences at your own pace. You lead the process; I walk alongside you.
Therapy is not only for times of crisis. It can also provide valuable space to pause, reflect, and make sense of what you are feeling, helping you to understand yourself more deeply and gain insight into patterns of thinking, feeling, and responding. Rather than being told what to do, you remain at the centre of the therapeutic process. Together, we can explore how your experiences may be affecting you, your relationships, and the way you engage with the world around you. Through this exploration, you may develop greater self-awareness, self-confidence, and trust in your own ability to move towards meaningful, positive, and lasting change.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a qualified Person-Centred, trauma-informed Counsellor and a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). Alongside my professional training, I bring a wealth of life and work experience to my role as a therapist, helping me connect with people from a wide range of backgrounds and life experiences. I have experience supporting survivors of sexual harm across all genders, as well as individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, burnout, trauma, addiction, identity-related concerns, and issues relating to self-esteem. Alongside my counselling work, I have spent the past 12 years working in higher education, supporting students through a wide range of personal and academic challenges.
I believe that the therapeutic relationship is at the heart of meaningful change, and it is important to me to bring my authentic self into the counselling room. Building a genuine, trusting connection can help you feel safe enough to explore whatever is on your mind. I warmly welcome clients from a wide range of backgrounds, cultures, and life experiences. My aim is to offer a space where you feel respected, valued, and accepted exactly as you are.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
I know that choosing someone to talk to can feel like a big decision. That’s why I offer a free 20-minute consultation before you commit to anything. It’s simply an opportunity for us to meet, for you to ask any questions, and to get a sense of whether I feel like the right fit for you. There’s absolutely no obligation to continue.
You don’t have to have everything figured out before reaching out. Sometimes, taking that first small step is enough.
