Linda Witchell MNCS (Acc). Specialist Stress & Bereavement Counsellor.
If you want 2020 to feel better and are suffering with stress, anxiety or a bereavement I specialise in those areas so I would like to help.
I really listen and help you to find the answers. I'm professional, experienced and friendly. I have been practising in my own business as a counsellor since 2007 and I'm a volunteer bereavement counsellor for Cruse Bereavement Care. I'm also a counselling and hypnotherapy teacher and supervisor.
Who are my clients?
English speaking adults and couples who want brief counselling. My service particularly appeals to working people who may have difficulty getting to my Bournemouth offices either because they can't leave work easily or because they are based somewhere else in the UK or abroad. I help these people by offering day and some evening appointments, telephone and online counselling.
I also offer a pet bereavement service for adults.
As a retired nurse with lots of experience in visual loss, I like to help people with counselling who have visual problems or hearing problems.
What is unique about me?
I don't work the same way as other counsellors because I am flexible in my approach and I may even do different things like go for a walk with my client if we agree that that is appropriate to meet needs.
I have had many years of training. I'm experienced and I care. I am an integrative counsellor so I have different approaches to help you although I do specialise in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).
I know that it can be difficult to seek help and find the right person for you, so please contact me. Chat to me first either on the phone or face to face in Bournemouth. I offer a free initial consultation.
Why struggle any longer? Call me in confidence and do something today.
For all clients I provide a safe place to talk, I listen and I don't make judgements.

What happens in the session?
Session 1. - Getting to know each other and the problem that you want to address.Providing you with information. Assessment and an agreement on the right way forward for you.
Following sessions- I listen and try to understand. I ask some questions, provide information and guide you to explore different areas, and sometimes we do little tasks together. Between sessions we can agree on you doing other little tasks to help you relax and move forward. These tasks help you to change your negative thoughts and behaviours and relax.
'I came to see Linda because of a recent death in the family. I found her service to be well directed. It enabled me to focus on the issues I was able to control and to put 'into a box' the issues that were outside of my control. This helped week on week to unpick the route causes of my anxiety and stress.' Susana, Shaftesbury.
I have comfortable offices in Bournemouth with free parking on the road. There is also good bus and rail services with Pokesdown railway station in easy walking distance. There is wheelchair access and I have a good understanding of the needs of visually and hearing impaired people.
