About me

I am compassionate, kind, non-judgemental and empathic. I feel the therapeutic relationship is important for therapy to begin to be successful. With this in mind, I invite you to allow yourself space for learning to trust me, and our process together.

My work with individuals, groups, and couples has equipped me with important experience that is invaluable in helping me understand that no matter where you are in life, you can often feel stressed, overwhelmed, lost, anxious, depressed and more. Sometimes it can be difficult to even put into words how you feel. I can help you explore any issues you are having and we can work together to help you identify and make any changes you may like to in your life.

I work in an integrative way, meaning I draw from different  counselling models and theories. These include, humanistic, person centred, psychodynamic and CBT.  This helps to tailor my approach to each persons differing needs. No one single approach will hold the answers to our problems.

I offer in person counselling, online and telephone counselling, and walk and talk therapy.

Areas I work in include depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, low self-confidence, loss and grief, relationships and family problems, stress, life changes, and work problems. This list is not exhaustive and there are many other issues that I can help with.

I have a particular interest in neurodiversity, autism and ADHD.

I offer a free consultation telephone call initially to see if you would like to work with me and to answer any questions you may have.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
