About me

Are you struggling with some area of your life that is impacting your ability to function well on a daily basis?

Have you got fed up feeling the way you do about yourself and feel desperate for that to change?

Do you struggle to be honest in relationships and say yes when you mean no?

Does showing up for life day to day make you feel anxious and you dont know why?

Our past history contributes to why we respond to people and situations the way we do now. However, this doesn't mean we need to go back into every detail of our history to heal from this. We do need to understand why we react to life instead of respond to it. This support and understanding can help you cope with life instead of battling with it constantly.

Are you coming to terms with an autism diagnosis? Either for yourself or a family member?

Or, do you think you may be autistic and dont know who to talk to about it?

I have a lot of personal as well as professional experience dealing with this. I am not autistic myself but my daughter and granddaughter are as well as other members of my family. This has given me an insight into the various  issues that arise. For example:

trying to  getting a diagnosis (questioning if this is what is wrong or if its something else)

Coming to terms with a diagnosis (for self or for a family member)

Trying to understand the traits and needs of being on the spectrum and what is ok to ask for in terms of your own needs versus what the world expects from you.

I offer a free face to face, telephone or Zoom(Video call) session for 30 mins to help decide if  I am the right person to help you.

I am a fully qualified Person-Centred Counsellor. Working both professionally with an organisation as a counsellor/ Supervisor and Clinical manager as well as privately from home as a Counsellor and Supervisor.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
