Hi, I am so pleased you have chosen to look at my profile, as this means you are already starting to take positive steps to address your situation and to improve your life.
I am a qualified Counsellor with extensive experience working with adults on a short term and open ended basis. I offer a confidential and supportive environment in which you can feel completely at ease to talk about your thoughts and feelings – and be understood.
Talking with an experienced counsellor, who won’t judge, accepts your feelings and is able to listen, can provide a life enhancing experience. At your pace, I offer the supported space in which to find a clearer understanding of yourself, and to safely work through difficult feelings and emotional distress.
Ultimately, my aim is to help you to achieve personal growth and to be happier (what-ever that may mean for you). I have helped many people with a diverse range of issues, including:-
Anxiety ● Stress ● Depression ● Low Self-Esteem ● Life Transitions (including midlife crisis and retirement) ● Relationships Issues (home and work) ● Eating Disorders ● Sexuality and Sexual Identity ● Trauma ● Bullying ● Dyslexia ● Self- Destructive Behaviour ● Bereavement and Loss.
Additionally, I have an interest in working with issues around: Dyslexia, Bullying (in the work place, at home or in the social setting). and Work Related pressures/stress.
WHAT TO DO NEXT
For many people, taking the first step into therapy can be a daunting one and naturally you may be unsure what to expect, but why not just contact me for an initial discussion about your needs and how therapy may help you. If you would
Background by a broad ranging and successful careers working in both the private and public sector, a time came when I just didn't feel fulfilled anymore. I felt something needed to change, and for the better. It was a soul searching episode filled with anxiety and uncertainty. What was this feeling all about? Worryingly, how would my perceived sense of selfishness in wanting to change my life, impact upon those around me? Suffice to say, there were many good reasons to stay as I was. Yet, if I did nothing where was I going to end up?
Clearly, something needed to happen to bring about change, and to find a happier and more fulfilling sense of balance in my life. With a keen interest in people and the world of therapy, I decided to take the plunge. There was no turning back as I pursued my ambition training for many years. It was a passionate endeavour that expanded my world, and led me now to be working as an experienced qualified Counsellor in private practice.

I am a registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy), adhering to a code of conduct and ethical framework, providing a high standard of professional therapeutic care.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
