About me
It can be heartbreaking to watch your teenager struggle.
You may see them becoming withdrawn, anxious, overwhelmed, angry, or simply not quite themselves. Perhaps school or college has become a source of stress, friendships are causing difficulties, or they seem to have lost confidence in themselves. Sometimes the pressures of school, friendships, identity, and growing up can feel overwhelming, leaving parents worried and unsure how best to help.
As Clinical Lead of a children's therapeutic support service, I have extensive experience supporting teenagers through the emotional and psychological challenges that often arise during this stage of life. Alongside my private practice, I continue to work closely with young people, helping them navigate anxiety, low self-esteem, trauma, emotional regulation difficulties, identity, relationships, and the pressures of growing up in today's world.
I also have considerable experience supporting neurodivergent teenagers, including those with dyslexia, dyspraxia, autism and ADHD, as well as LGBTQ+ young people and those who identify as transgender or are exploring their identity.
Often, the teenagers I work with aren't sure they want counselling when they first arrive, and that's okay. Building trust takes time. I work at each young person's pace, creating a non-judgemental, warm and supportive environment where they can begin to make sense of their experiences, develop self-understanding, and build the confidence and tools to manage life's challenges.
I specialise in trauma-informed therapy and understand how difficult experiences can continue to affect a young person's emotions, relationships, confidence, and sense of self. Therapy isn't about forcing painful conversations; it's about helping young people feel safer, more resilient, and better equipped to move forward.
I currently offer a dedicated Saturday morning clinic for teenagers, with limited availability.
Taking that first step can feel daunting, but it may be the beginning of helping your teenager feel more understood, more confident, and more able to thrive.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
