About us
Counselling & Psychotherapy offer us a safe space to take a closer look at ourselves and our struggles. Life is not a very straight forward road and so can often take us by surprise or present us with a new challenge. At LIFE PUZZLES we believe that we all have the ability to crumble when things get too overwhelming and also that we all have the capacity to heal and overcome difficult challenges.
When we are in the middle of a crisis, things can feel very messy and impossible, our minds can shut down and even basic thinking can appear blocked. So sometimes, it is not possible to manage a difficult time on our own.
When we feel calmer and well supported we are more able to consider different ways of understanding and responding to our experiences. Our thinking feels clearer.
So, whether you are overwhelmed by strong emotions and body sensations, struggling with past experiences, feeling pulled into behaviours that seem unhelpful or you find yourself troubled by your interactions with others, spending time talking with a professional in confidence can help bring calm and hope back into your internal system. That way, counselling can be very healing and enlightening even in a short period of time.
Counsellors at LIFE PUZZLES can use many different approaches to tailor the sessions to your needs. We will listen, ask questions and offer you some ideas to encourage different ways of looking at a situation. We might also give you some information or point you to other sources of help about specific issues that might be useful for you. Most importantly, we will do so in a safe, non-judgemental and confidential space.

We can also provide supervision to trainee and qualified Counsellors.
We have our main base in Hangleton but can also offer appointments in Kemptown, Fiveways and Hurstpierpoint as well as via zoom or by telephone.

school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
