About me

My name is Libby and I’m a qualified counsellor. I am trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and I specialise in supporting women through the many emotional challenges that can arise across all stages of life. Whether  you're navigating anxiety, low mood, relationship struggles, or feeling stuck in patterns that no longer serve you—I offer a warm, understanding space where you can feel truly heard.

At Liberty for Her, I provide a safe, supportive space for women to explore their emotional world, reconnect with themselves, and find freedom from the thoughts and feelings that may be holding them back.

If you are struggling with low self-esteem and low confidence, you might be feeling overwhelmed, emotionally drained, or struggling with thoughts and feelings that are hard to put into words. Perhaps you’ve been telling yourself you should be coping better — or that others have it worse — yet something still feels heavy inside.

I use a CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) approach to help you gently explore how your thoughts, emotions, and behaviours are connected. CBT isn’t about telling you to “think positively” or pushing you to change before you’re ready. Instead, it helps you develop a clearer understanding of what’s happening for you and offers practical, supportive ways to reduce distress and regain a sense of control.

I have experience supporting individuals with difficulties such as anxiety, panic attacks, OCD, low mood and depression. You may find yourself stuck in cycles of overthinking, fear, avoidance, self-criticism, or feeling constantly on edge. Together, we can work at a pace that feels right for you, helping you build tools and understanding that make daily life feel more manageable and less overwhelming.

My main focus is to offer you a space where you feel truly heard and understood, without judgement or pressure to “fix” anything straight away. A place where you don’t have to explain or justify how you feel, and where you can begin to feel less alone with what you’re carrying.

I work gently and collaboratively, at your pace, helping you make sense of your experiences and emotions in a way that feels safe and supportive. Many clients tell me that simply being met with warmth, understanding, and compassion is the first step towards feeling more grounded and hopeful again.

If you're ready to take the first step, or even if you’re just curious about what counselling might be like, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. I’m here to walk alongside you—whatever stage you’re at.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
