About me
Who I Work With
I often work with people who appear to be coping on the outside whilst feeling overwhelmed, anxious, stuck, disconnected, or exhausted on the inside.
Many of the clients I support are navigating grief, loss, relationship difficulties, work-related stress, life transitions, or the lasting impact of difficult experiences from the past. Sometimes these experiences can leave us feeling uncertain about who we are, where we're heading, or how to move forward.
Whether you're struggling with a recent change or carrying something that has been with you for many years, therapy can provide the space to slow down, make sense of what you're experiencing, and reconnect with yourself in a way that feels meaningful and manageable.
Grief, Loss & Life Transitions
I have a specialist interest and NHS experience supporting people through grief, anticipatory loss, life-limiting diagnoses, perinatal loss, reproductive trauma, termination, and significant life transitions.
I recognise that loss can take many forms. It may involve the death of a loved one, changes in health, relationships, work, identity, or future plans. These experiences can affect not only how we feel about the world around us, but also our sense of self, safety, and direction in life.
Through my NHS and clinical experience, I offer a supportive space to explore what you have been through, understand its impact, and begin to find a way forward that feels right for you.
How I Work
As an integrative counsellor, I draw on Person-Centred Therapy, CBT, and Transactional Analysis, adapting therapy to your individual needs and goals.
Alongside this, I am currently undertaking specialist training in Somatic Trauma Therapy, further developing my understanding of how stress, trauma, and difficult life experiences can affect both the mind and the body.
I believe therapy works best when you feel genuinely heard, understood, and accepted. My aim is to create a warm, confidential, and collaborative space where you can safely explore your experiences, develop greater self-understanding, and make meaningful changes at a pace that feels right for you.
Training, qualifications & experience
My Training
Alongside my Diploma in Integrative Counselling, I have undertaken specialist training in pregnancy loss, termination, fertility journeys, and perinatal mental health. This includes further training with the Pandas Foundation, Abigail's Footsteps, and The Miscarriage Association.
My Commitment to Ongoing Development
As part of my ongoing professional development, I am currently undertaking a Level 5 Diploma in Trauma and Somatic Therapy. This training is deepening my understanding of how trauma, stress, and difficult life experiences can affect both the mind and the body.
What is a somatic-informed approach?
Whilst therapy often involves exploring thoughts, emotions, and experiences through conversation, trauma and stress can also be held within the body and nervous system.
Alongside talking therapy, I may gently introduce somatic techniques where appropriate and always collaboratively. These may include breathing exercises, grounding practices, orienting, and noticing physical sensations within the body.
Some clients find that this approach helps them develop a greater sense of safety, self-awareness, and connection with themselves. It can also support emotional regulation and provide another way of understanding how past and present experiences may be affecting daily life.
My approach is always tailored to your individual needs, and there is never any expectation to engage in techniques that do not feel right for you.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

How I Work
Therapy looks different for everyone. Some clients attend for a shorter period focused on a particular challenge, while others choose longer-term work to explore deeper patterns and experiences. I offer flexibility around both the duration and frequency of therapy, with weekly and fortnightly sessions available, usually I work with a same time session slot for continuity of work.
I work in person from my therapy room in Heaton Moor, Stockport, where I offer a private and confidential space for counselling. For those who prefer greater flexibility, I also provide online and telephone counselling across the UK.
My Values
I am committed to providing a safe, compassionate, and inclusive counselling space where everyone is treated with dignity, respect, and without judgement.
I welcome people from all backgrounds, cultures, ethnicities, faiths, genders, sexual orientations, relationship styles, and abilities.
My approach is rooted in curiosity, empathy, and collaboration. I believe your identity, values, and lived experiences should be acknowledged and respected, and I will always strive to offer counselling that is culturally sensitive, affirming, and tailored to your individual needs.
Free Initial Consultation
Finding the right therapist is important, which is why I offer a free 30-minute telephone or online consultation.
This is an opportunity for us to discuss what has brought you to therapy, what you're hoping to gain from counselling, and for you to ask any questions about how I work.
There is no obligation to continue. My priority is that you feel comfortable, supported, and able to make an informed decision about whether I'm the right therapist for you. If you decide I'm not, that's completely okay. Finding the right fit is an important part of the therapeutic process.
