About me
Through my experience as a nurse and counsellor, and my voluntary work with Samaritans, Cruse and a Pregnancy Loss charity, I’ve sat with people during some of their most difficult moments. When you’re struggling with complicated emotions, it can sometimes feel as though you’re completely alone, even when you’re surrounded by people who care deeply for you.
You may feel misunderstood, isolated, or unsure how to cope. This can show up in many ways, such as difficulties sleeping, anxiety, intrusive thoughts, or tension in relationships.
I have extensive experience supporting people through grief and loss. Grief is not only about bereavement; it can arise from any loss including fertility challenges, pregnancy loss, the end of a relationship, a life‑changing injuries or illness or any moment that reshapes the life you thought you would have.
Grief is the emotional and physical process that follows any significant loss. It is our way of adjusting to change and slowly learning how to live again with a different reality. You may experience a mixture of emotions, including anger, guilt, sadness and numbness. We can explore how grief is affecting you, your sense of self, your relationships, and your day‑to‑day life, and how you can begin to rebuild a sense of meaning and connection.
My Approach
I use mainly a person centred approach where your experiences, feelings and priorities shape what we explore together.
My professional background
Being a nurse shaped the way I work as a counsellor. I spent many years supporting people through fear and major life changes, and learnt how to stay calm, listen and try to understand what someone is going through. That experience sits at the heart of my counselling work, helping me build relationships with clients that are safe and authentic .
How counselling can help
Often people seek counselling when they’re struggling to manage their emotions and when it feels as though others don’t quite understand or are trying to “fix” things rather than listen. Counselling offers a space where you can explore your feelings at your own pace, without any judgement or pressure.
Where I work
I offer face to face and online sessions from a peaceful, confidential space in my campervan on my driveway in Goring‑by‑Sea. Being close to the sea can bring a sense of calm and grounding, and many clients find this setting soothing and restorative.
Getting in Touch
I aim to respond to all enquiries within 24 hours (Monday–Friday). If you’ve emailed or filled out the contact form, please check your junk or spam folder in case my reply ends up there. I offer a free 30 minute consultation session, either in person or online, where we can meet and decide if we are a good fit for working together,
