About me
I am a Psychotherapist, Couple Counsellor and Mediator working with young people, adults and couples. My professional experience began over 20 years ago as a volunteer counsellor in primary schools, and working for Relate as a Couple Counsellor and trainer. My clients are provided with the space to talk freely about their concerns and make sense of their world. We will work together to understand your current situation and open up new possibilities for living a more meaningful life.
My approach incorporates psychoanalytic and integrative perspectives, which means I draw from a variety of different theoretical models, to meet your individual needs. I have worked in variety of settings, including the NHS and Relate, specializing in Couples Counselling, individual and family therapy. and relationship issues, low self-esteem, sexuality, bereavement, depression, trauma, bipolar disorder, anxiety and panic disorder. I work with a diverse range of ethnicities, cultures and difference in a non-judgemental way that sets the foundation for an effective therapeutic relationship. With effective therapy, you will most certainly become more resilient, content and confident, leading improved self-esteem and more meaningful and satisfactory relationships.
You will have my full commitment and whatever concerns you choose to explore, will be respected with you determining the pace and time. Although the nature of our work is professional, you will find me approachable, warm and supportive. My particular interest lies in neuroscience and the relationship between the intimate and extraordinary connection between mind and body. I am committed and dedicated to understanding the human condition and engage in regular continued professional development, to ensure I maintain a high level of clinical excellence. I also serve as a volunteer staff member for a company delivering innovative conferences and seminars for related mental health professionals.
To accommodate your personal needs, I offer face-to-face, telephone, Zoom or Skype sessions, with flexible appointment times. You can be assured of confidentiality and privacy in a setting that is comfortable and welcoming, with plenty of parking on a bus and tube route. I abide by the Code of Ethics of the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and the Code of Ethics of the Regent's School of Psychotherapy and Psychology.
I am currently undertaking PhD research with Regents University London together with the University of Northampton to better support people who suffer from Medically Unexplained Symptoms (MUS). For example, chronic pain, fatigue, IBS, autoimmune diseases, headaches and more complex somatic syndromes.
