About me

Hi, I'm Leandra, a fully qualified and experienced Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT Therapist) based in Glasgow and the surrounding area. I offer CBT therapy and counselling from private therapy rooms in Newton Mearns, Clarkston (East Renfrewshire), and East Kilbride, as well as online therapy sessions via a secure video platform, meaning I can work with clients anywhere across the UK.

If you're struggling with depression, persistent low mood, anxiety, or feeling overwhelmed by your thoughts and emotions, you don't have to face it alone. I offer a warm, supportive, and confidential space where we can explore what you're going through at your own pace, helping you begin to feel more like yourself again.

Whether you're based in Glasgow, East Renfrewshire, East Kilbride, or further afield, counselling with me is compassionate, non-judgmental, and focused entirely on your growth and wellbeing.

My expertise:

I work with a wide range of emotional and psychological challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, anger, phobias, social anxiety, OCD, low self-esteem and confidence issues, grief and bereavement, relationship difficulties, abuse, bullying, insomnia, and loneliness.

I also have a particular interest in supporting individuals through childhood difficulties, pregnancy and motherhood, expatriation, and cross-cultural concerns, as well as young adults navigating life transitions.

My approach to CBT therapy and counselling is warm, collaborative, and tailored to you. Understanding what you're experiencing and knowing you are not alone in it can be the first step toward real and meaningful change.

Qualifications & Professional Memberships

-COSCA-validated SCOTACS Diploma in Counselling and Groupwork

-COSCA Counselling Skills Certificate

-BACP Certificate of Proficiency

-Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP)

I have worked across a range of charitable and community settings in and around Glasgow and East Renfrewshire, providing counselling and CBT therapy to vulnerable individuals facing emotional, psychological, and life challenges. These experiences have deepened my understanding of the complex factors that affect mental health, including trauma, stress, identity, and social pressures.

Before qualifying as a therapist, I lived and worked internationally within multicultural societies, an experience that continues to shape my practice today. This background gives me a strong appreciation for diversity and the ability to work sensitively with people from a wide range of cultural, social, and personal backgrounds.

I welcome clients of all ethnicities, nationalities, religions, genders, and sexual orientations. In our counselling or CBT therapy sessions, you will be met with compassion, warmth, acceptance, and respect in a safe, confidential space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings without judgement.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
