About me

I’m Lauren Robinson (she/her), a person-centred counsellor working with adults and young people aged 16+. I offer online video counselling sessions.

My approach is warm, authentic, empathic and non-judgemental. I work organically, allowing the sessions to develop around the individual and what feels important to them. I believe in building a genuine therapeutic relationship where clients feel comfortable being themselves and exploring whatever they may be experiencing.

I work with a wide range of issues, including anxiety, stress, trauma, addiction, ADHD, relationships, family difficulties, identity and self-discovery. I am particularly interested in supporting people who may feel disconnected from themselves or are trying to understand who they are and what they need.

I have previous experience working in a college setting and in a rural community. Sessions are 50 minutes and cost £50.

Training, qualifications & experience

I completed a Certificate in Introduction to Counselling and Psychotherapy before going on to complete a two-year MSc in Counselling and Psychotherapy.

As part of my MSc, I completed over 150 hours of supervised counselling practice across two settings. This included working within a college setting and establishing my own placement within a rural community, where I gained experience supporting clients with a range of personal and emotional difficulties.

My training and placement experience have allowed me to develop my skills as a person-centred counsellor and to work with people from a range of backgrounds and with different experiences and needs.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
