About me

Hi there and welcome. I’m really glad you’ve landed here.

Life can just feel a lot sometimes, can’t it? Perhaps, on the outside, you seem to be coping. You're keeping yourself busy, working hard and showing up for everyone else. But on the inside things feel very different, and you’re starting to feel tired of carrying it all.

Maybe you feel anxious, overwhelmed, or exhausted from carrying so much for so long. Sometimes it can feel like you’re the one keeping everything together for everyone else, while quietly wondering who is there for you.

Your mind might struggle to switch off. You might find yourself overthinking conversations or replaying things in your head perhaps. Sometimes our thoughts seem to have a habit of bringing things back to us at 2am when we’d rather be asleep. When you’ve been carrying so much for so long, it can start to feel exhausting.

Sometimes people reach a point where they just know something doesn’t feel right anymore, even if they can’t quite explain why. And that’s okay. For some people this can show up as anxiety, low mood, or a sense of feeling stuck in repeating patterns that are hard to change.

Reaching out for therapy can feel like a huge step, especially if you’ve never spoken to anyone before. I understand that, both as a therapist and as a client, having been there myself. You might know exactly what you want from therapy, or you just know you can’t keep holding everything on your own anymore and that’s absolutely fine. Either way, you’re very welcome here.

Who am I and what is therapy with me like?

Hi, I'm Laura.

I'm a relational psychotherapist, which means I believe the relationship we build together is one of the most important parts of therapy.

You don't need to arrive with everything figured out, the right words to explain how you're feeling, or even a clear idea of what you want from therapy. Most people don't. We simply start wherever you are and work at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

At the heart of my work is the belief that meaningful change often happens when we feel genuinely heard, understood and accepted. Therapy isn't about me analysing you from a distance or telling you how I believe you should live your life. It's about two people working together to gently make sense of what you're experiencing.

I bring my full human self into the room and aim to meet you with warmth, honesty, curiosity and genuine care. Sometimes our conversations may feel emotional, sometimes reflective, and occasionally we might even find something to laugh about along the way. Therapy doesn't have to feel heavy every minute of the session.

My background is in Transactional Analysis (TA), an approach that helps us understand how earlier experiences can shape the way we think, feel, behave and see ourselves today. Together we can gently explore patterns that may once have helped you cope but now leave you feeling stuck, overwhelmed or disconnected from yourself.

Above all, I aim to create a space where you feel safe enough to be yourself, share your story without any judgement, and begin to make sense of your experiences in a way that feels meaningful to you.

I welcome people from all backgrounds, identities and life experiences, and strive to offer a space where you feel respected, included and genuinely welcome.
