About me
As a person-centred UKCP registered psychotherapist, I fully immerse myself in your world, and commit to working with you, whatever struggles you face. I work to help foster in you a greater sense of self-worth and agency rooted in a deep conviction that all of this wisdom is within you. Through empathic, attuned connection I hope to support you in accessing felt experiences and together look to understand what this might be communicating. With over 700 hours of clinical experience I have worked with clients facing multiple struggles, notably: grief, depression, loneliness, infidelity, the processing of new diagnoses, anxiety, suicidal ideation, self-esteem struggles, relationship complexities, and control around alcohol, weight and compulsive behaviours.
I work anti-diagnostically, believing that these behaviours often make sense in the context of your life, but that together, the therapeutic relationship can help you develop an understanding about where these behaviours and thoughts originate, and how you might develop more helpful behaviours in the future.
Making time for yourself begins the process of self-care, and whatever tangled struggle you manage, I endeavour to be alongside you, no difficulty being too big or too small. Shame grows in the darkness, so together I will bring light and love to help you move in the direction your authentic self seeks. I believe it is the relationship that heals.

school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
I am a 45 year old woman with over 700 hours of clinical practice within the charity sector, bereavement work and private practice; working relationally with a wide variety of struggles. I have a background in education, teaching secondary English literature and theatre and believe passionately in the rejuvenating potential of the arts for wellbeing. Where my philosophy is rooted in human potential for self-growth and agency, I believe much of psychological struggle lessens in a co-created relationship founded on the principles of empathy and deep positive regard.
