About me
Hello, I’m Laura. I’m a qualified therapist, but more importantly, I’m a person first, and I believe therapy begins with the relationship.
For me, creating a genuine, authentic therapeutic relationship where you feel held, heard, and accepted is at the heart of my work. I want to offer you a warm, kind, and confidential space where you don’t have to have everything figured out or present a certain version of yourself. A space where you can be human and be you.
I bring warmth, openness, and curiosity into the room. I’ll listen, I’ll sit with you in the difficult moments, and I’ll be alongside you as we explore the things that perhaps don’t always make sense.
Sometimes, our life experiences develop into patterns, and we learn to adapt in ways that help us cope and find our way through life. It can be really helpful to slow things down and become curious about why we do the things we do, not to judge ourselves, but to understand ourselves a little more.
I believe that being truly heard and understood can be powerful in itself. And when there is a strong, trusting therapeutic relationship, it gives us somewhere safe from which to explore, grow, and perhaps see ourselves and our lives a little differently.
My approach
I don’t see myself as someone who has all the answers. I see therapy as something we explore together.
As an integrative therapist, I draw from different therapeutic approaches where appropriate, tailoring our work to you and what you need. However, I believe that the approach itself is only part of the work. The relationship we build together is what matters most.
I have a BA (Hons) degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy and am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I’m fully insured, hold an enhanced DBS check, and work to the highest standards of ethical practice.
Specialist areas
I work with adults experiencing a wide range of difficulties, including:
- Anxiety, stress, and feeling overwhelmed
- Depression and low mood
- Trauma and difficult life experiences
- Grief and loss
- Relationship struggles
- Low self-esteem and confidence
- Feeling disconnected from yourself or a loss of identity
- Life changes and transitions, including new parenthood
- Feeling stuck, lost, or unsure of your direction
- Personal growth and developing a deeper understanding of yourself
- I also have specific training in trauma and domestic violence.
Getting started
Starting therapy can feel daunting, especially if it’s your first time. You might not know what to expect, what to say, or even where to begin. That’s okay.
I offer a free 20-minute introductory conversation, giving us some time to talk, get to know one another, and explore what has brought you to therapy. It’s also an opportunity for you to ask any questions and get a feel for whether working together feels right for you.
There’s no pressure to have everything figured out or to commit to therapy straight away. Finding the right counsellor is important, and the relationship we build together matters.
I hope to create a space where you feel safe enough to be yourself, understood enough to explore what’s really going on, and supported as you find your way forward.
I work face-to-face on Saturdays & Sundays in Solihull (B94) and online during the week.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
