Hi, I’m Kitty.
I am an integrative therapist and coach, which means I have trained in a range of therapeutic approaches that enable me to adapt how I work with you, depending on your needs and preferences.
I like to work collaboratively and actively, to help support you to face challenging life circumstances, enabling you to feel stronger, more confident and better able to cope.
Through life, we can all experience difficulties that can lead us to feel stuck, overwhelmed or lost. You might find yourself grappling with a past experience that’s been hard to process, or perhaps you’re at a crossroads, uncertain about your next steps. You could be seeking deeper self-awareness and trying to understand patterns in your behaviour that aren’t always clear. Whatever you wish to explore or share, having a regular space to do so can be incredibly beneficial and healing.
My experience includes:
- Anxiety, OCD, Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD), Body Dysmorphia, Compulsions, Disordered Eating.
- Trauma, Family issues, Relationship issues, PTSD, BPD / EUPD.
- Depression, Low self-esteem, Low-moods, Low-confidence, Stress, Burnout, Career and Life changes.
I provide a confidential, non-judgmental and supportive space to explore these difficulties and find a route through. I will work actively with you, rather than just sitting back and listening. Ultimately, my aim is to help you develop your own inner therapist.
As an integrative therapist, I combine different theories and models to suit you. Your needs are always at the heart of my practice. I often use Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), particularly when working with anxiety related concerns. I also utilise Transactional Analysis, Gestalt, Psychodynamic Theory. Compassion Focussed Therapy (CFT) principles are often a core aspect of therapeutic approach. If suitable, I can bring coaching into our work, to map a route to your desired future.
A little about me: I began working in mental health 8 years ago, mainly in the third sector, initially volunteering on a helpline, facilitating support groups for those affected by Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD) and counselling young people (16+). I am still active as the managing director of the BDD Foundation. Alongside my work, I began a Foundation in Psychodynamic Counselling (Distinction) before moving on to study at a Masters level in Integrative Counselling and Coaching (a Diploma & MSc – Distinction). Prior to this I had another career, working in the designer wholesale fashion industry, which came with successes and challenges. The challenges led me to the deep understanding of the power of therapy and my desire to help others.
My training in both Psychotherapy and Coaching enables a focus on deep psychological change, with the ability to work in a practical and solution-focused way with my clients.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
Starting therapy can feel scary and I aim to provide a compassionate and safe environment that enables you to go at your own pace. It is a courageous act of self-care to invest in yourself and your future.
Whether you're dealing with a longstanding issue or navigating a challenging period, having a place to discuss this on a regular basis can be very supportive.
Initially, I will suggest an initial free telephone or video call (approx. 20mins) which will give an opportunity for you to share what brings you to counselling, and for me to share a little about how I work. It is a chance for us to begin to get to know each other and assess whether it feels like a good ‘fit’ and to agree on how we might work together.
