About me

Feeling stuck, unmotivated, or overwhelmed by anxiety can be difficult, and opening up to someone you don’t know may feel daunting. I aim to offer a warm, accepting, and non-judgemental space where you can explore different aspects of yourself at your own pace.

I believe that talking openly within a supportive therapeutic relationship can increase awareness around the parts of ourselves that feel stuck or unclear. I am a humanistic counsellor and value each person’s uniqueness, adapting the way I work to who you are and what you bring.

Our work together may involve exploring thoughts and feelings, as well as reflecting on past experiences and how these continue to affect you in the present. Together, we can explore ways of helping you feel less overwhelmed and more able to make sense of what is going on for you.

I offer a free 30-minute introductory phone call or online session. This provides an opportunity to talk about what has brought you to counselling, what you are hoping for from therapy, and whether working together feels like the right fit.

I currently offer online counselling only, via secure video or phone sessions.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold a Diploma and BSc in Humanistic Counselling and am registered with the BACP. Alongside my private practice, I have volunteered with a range of counselling organisations, including working for four years in a bereavement setting and with an LGBTQIA+ organisation.

I also have a background working within the health sector, including in a cancer setting, which has informed my understanding of how physical health can impact emotional wellbeing. My experience within a wellness setting focused on hormonal and reproductive health also shapes my work as a counsellor.

I am particularly interested in supporting people navigating hormonal changes, including perimenopause and menopause, and aim to offer mental health support in a way that is inclusive and respectful of diverse gender identities and lived experiences.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
