About me

I am an integrative counsellor with over twenty years’ experience supporting young people and adults. My work is grounded in the understanding that emotional wellbeing is deeply connected to how we learn, relate, work and navigate everyday life. Through my experience in academic settings, mentoring roles and counselling environments, I have developed a broad appreciation of the challenges people face at different stages of life, from education and relationships to career pressures and major life transitions. I offer a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space where you can explore whatever has brought you to therapy, at a pace that feels right for you. Whether you are facing a specific difficulty or simply have a sense that something no longer feels quite right, we can work together to gently explore your thoughts, emotions and patterns, helping you gain greater self-understanding and create meaningful change.

The therapeutic relationship itself is central to my work. I believe meaningful change happens within a trusting, supportive and collaborative connection. I aim to offer warmth, compassion and acceptance, creating an environment where you feel heard, respected and safe enough to be yourself, without pressure or expectation.

Choosing a counsellor is a personal decision, and it’s important to find someone you feel comfortable with. If you’re considering therapy, you don’t need to have everything figured out before you begin. Sometimes, taking that first step is simply about giving yourself permission to be supported.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have worked with adults and young people aged 16+ across a range of settings, including private practice, an Employee Assistance Programme (EAP), and further education within a college environment. I am also part of a team delivering wellbeing support within the corporate sector through workshops, talks and retreat days. This breadth of experience enables me to adapt my approach to suit different needs, backgrounds and stages of life.

Alongside my professional experience, I hold an MSc, BSc, PGCE, Levels 2 and 3 in Counselling Skills, and a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling. I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
