About me

I offer a non-judgemental space where we can work together to overcome whatever difficulties you are experiencing. I will not put you into a neat box with one diagnosis or another, but instead try to understand you from your own perspective, with all the complexity that entails. We can talk about anything - painful feelings of any kind, wounds from the past or difficulties with relationships. Rather than seeing you as isolated and broken, we will try to understand the big picture, considering your relationships with family and society more broadly. We will try to develop together an understanding of why you struggle in the way that you do, on the basis that it is only by understanding the difficulties we face that we can be properly positioned to overcome them.

In addition to general client work, I have 5 years of experience working in a non-judgemental way with transgender clients specifically. I am happy to work with anyone struggling with gender related issues, as well as anyone who isn't.

Training, qualifications & experience

Diploma in Phenomenology and Psychotherapy (SAFPAC)

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
