MBACP Integrative Cousellor Dip. Therapeutic Counselling

About me

Hello, and welcome to Trust Counselling.

I'm Kieran, an integrative counsellor offering face-to-face counselling in Stockport Town Centre (SK1) and online sessions from Hazel Grove (SK7).

Taking the first step towards counselling can feel daunting, especially if you're used to coping on your own. You may be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, anxious, struggling in relationships, or simply finding life more difficult than usual. Whatever has brought you here, you're welcome exactly as you are.

My approach is warm, collaborative, and tailored to you as an individual. As an integrative counsellor, I draw primarily from Person-Centred Therapy while incorporating elements of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Transactional Analysis. This allows us to work collaboratively in a way that best suits your needs, helping you gain insight, develop self-awareness, and create meaningful, lasting change.

At the heart of my work is the belief that everyone deserves a space where they can talk openly and honestly without fear of judgement. I aim to offer a calm, supportive environment where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences at your own pace. Many people come to counselling worried about being judged or misunderstood; my role is to help you feel heard, accepted, and supported.

I work with a wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression, stress, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, anger, loss, and life transitions. Whether you're facing a specific challenge or simply want to understand yourself better, we can work together to explore what matters most to you.

Many of the people I work with appear to be coping well on the outside while feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, or disconnected on the inside. You may find yourself constantly putting other people’s needs before your own, struggling with self-confidence, carrying worries that never seem to switch off, or feeling stuck in patterns that no longer serve you. Sometimes there isn’t one specific problem to point to – just a sense that life feels harder than it should, or that you’ve lost touch with who you are beneath the responsibilities and pressures of everyday life. In our work together, you’ll find a warm, supportive, and non-judgemental space where you don’t have to have all the answers. My aim is to help you feel heard, understood, and accepted, while supporting you to explore your experiences, build resilience, and move towards a greater sense of clarity, confidence, and emotional wellbeing.

Alongside my work with a broad range of clients, I have a special interest in men’s mental health. Through both professional training and personal experience, I understand some of the barriers that can make seeking support difficult. However, my practice is for anyone seeking a compassionate, professional space to work through life's challenges, regardless of gender, background, or identity.

I believe that talking about difficult feelings takes courage, it is not a weakness. Counselling can provide the opportunity to better understand yourself, build resilience, improve relationships, and move towards the life you want to live.

I offer a free 15-minute telephone or video consultation, giving us the opportunity to see whether we feel like a good fit and allowing you to ask any questions you may have about counselling.

You are welcome to contact me by phone, text, email, WhatsApp, or through the contact form on my website.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
