About me

I am an experienced Clinical Psychologist offering psychodynamic therapy, grounded in person-centred values. I work with adults who feel anxious, low, dysregulated or caught in unhelpful patterns, as well as those who find themselves struggling with relationships or simply wanting to understand themselves more deeply.

I’m especially interested in what repeats — in our relationships and in the stories we tell ourselves — and why these patterns can be so hard to shift. We might trace where they began, what keeps them alive now, and what possibilities open up when they’re brought into awareness. I also pay attention to how experiences leave their mark on the body as well as the mind, often surfacing in how we feel physically as well as emotionally.

Alongside my general practice, I have specialist expertise in perinatal mental health: supporting people through pregnancy, postpartum, and the profound identity shifts of parenthood. This includes work with parent–infant relationships, helping parents feel more connected and better able to respond to their baby’s needs while also caring for themselves.

I believe the relationship between therapist and client is central to meaningful change. Therapy with me offers a space to feel thought about, supported, and — when helpful — challenged. If this resonates, you’re welcome to get in touch with any questions or to arrange a consultation.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am an HCPC-registered Clinical Psychologist with experience across various clinical settings. My background in neuroscience informs my work, and I aim to ensure my approach reflects what we know about how the brain and mind grow and change.

Alongside private work, I hold a senior post as a Highly Specialist Clinical Psychologist within the NHS Lothian Parent-Infant Relationship Service (PAIRS).

Education:

  • Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (D.Clin.Psych.), Queen’s University Belfast
  • MSc in Neuropsychology with Distinction, University of Bristol
  • First-Class BSc (Hons) in Psychology, University of St Andrews

HCPC
Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.

They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.

Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
