About me
Welcome to Psychotherapy with Kershia.
Life and relationships can sometimes feel overwhelming, and you may be used to figuring things out on your own. Whether it’s because you don’t like asking for help or it’s just what you’re accustomed to, it can sometimes leave you feeling stuck. Maybe there’s something from your past affecting your present, or you’re looking to improve the quality of your relationships. The relational-developmental psychotherapy I offer provides a supportive space where you won’t be alone. Together, we’ll explore what you bring to therapy, tracing the roots of your experiences to better understand and work through them.
To give you a better understanding of how I work and what to expect, please explore the following sections: What You Can Expect | About Me | Why Accreditation Matters | My Clientele | What Is Integrative Psychotherapy? | Starting Therapy with Me | Private Practice Days and Hours
What You Can Expect:
- A dedicated space to talk
- One-hour sessions (not the typical 50-minute therapeutic hour)
- A different experience from your other relationships—this space is 100% yours
- Insight into patterns and links that explain why things are the way they are
- A supportive, empathetic, and non-judgmental environment
- Predictability, transparency, and honest feedback
- Care and validation for your feelings
- A trusting therapeutic environment
- No preconceptions about how long therapy should last or what you need to bring to it
About Me:
I am an accredited Integrative Psychotherapist with a BSc. in Psychology and an MSc. in Integrative Psychotherapy. My eight years of study laid the foundation for my therapeutic work, including attending personal therapy, a supervised practice, and gaining 450 hours of clinical practice at several placements. These experiences have deepened my understanding of both myself and others.
Why Accreditation Matters:
I am UKCP accredited, which means my work is regulated by a trusted body, ensuring I adhere to ethical standards. This accreditation provides a layer of accountability that’s crucial in maintaining professionalism and client trust. While anyone can call themselves a psychotherapist, being registered with an accredited organisation like the UKCP ensures that I follow ethical guidelines and a complaints process, offering you protection and peace of mind.
My Clientele:
I’ve worked with clients from diverse backgrounds, both in-person and online, from all over the world. I help individuals navigate challenges including:
Sexual assault
Anxiety
Depression
Trauma
Low self-esteem
Emotional abuse
Family and cultural issues
While I specialise in these areas, my practice also covers a wide range of emotional and psychological concerns, helping clients work through past experiences that impact their present well-being and relationships.
What Is Integrative Psychotherapy?
Some psychotherapists train in one theoretical approach, such as person-centred therapy. As an integrative psychotherapist, I combine multiple theories, including psychodynamic, attachment theory, transactional analysis (TA), and person-centred approaches. This allows me to explore how past experiences have shaped you and how these continue to affect you in the present. By understanding the root of an issue, we can work together toward lasting change through our therapeutic relationship.
Starting Therapy with Me:
We begin with a 15-minute complimentary phone or video conversation. I recommend speaking with a few therapists before making your decision.
If you decide to proceed, we’ll schedule a one-hour assessment session.
I’ll provide a contract outlining the structure of therapy, including policies on cancellations and holidays. From there, we can begin the therapeutic journey.
Private Practice Days and Hours:
I am available for sessions on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., with a lunchtime slot also available on weekends.
Training, qualifications & experience
I graduated from university in 2016 with a BSc. in Psychology. In 2017, I began my psychotherapy studies, where I completed a Postgraduate Diploma and an MSc. in Integrative Psychotherapy.

- Sexual Violence Support Services Counsellor - 100 hours
- Nottingham Trent University Counsellor - 100 hours

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
