About me

Hi my name is Kerry, it is my passion to be able to help people with their emotional needs and to assist anyone who is struggling with the everyday demands of life; whether that be anxiety, stress, grief or depression. This extends to other struggles with addiction or eating disorders, anything that is stopping you from living your life to its full potential.

I believe that with the right tools you can create a life you want by facing your inner struggles and acknowledging fear. When we acknowledge our fear but do not allow it to control our actions you can step into a world that you only dreamed was possible – everybody has the ability to do this even if right now you don’t feel like you do. I use a range of techniques which will help you to deal with the issues at hand and together we can work through them.

I offer a friendly, safe and non-judgemental space where you can talk about anything and everything that you need to. This space will allow you to open up parts that have been repressed or hidden for any number of reasons. Having the space to then understand your own emotions and the way in which your mind works can allow you to have a deeper understanding of yourself and others around you – it can help you reengage with yourself and who you truly are and start living in way that is true to yourself and not dictated by others.

Counselling can be a daunting step which is why I offer a reduced fee initial consultation so that we can meet each other and discuss what you need. From that meeting you can decide what you would like to do.

I work from a summerhouse in my front garden in a peaceful area that is surrounded by countryside.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have worked as a residential support worker for children on the autistic spectrum which include ADD and ADHD as well as autism; I have been a carer in care homes and a support worker in a respite children’s home for children with additional needs. I have also gained experience by working in a residential rehabilitation centre for women in recovery from substance misuse where I counselled women who had a range of issues including addiction, abuse, eating disorders, difficult and traumatic childhoods, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, anxiety, grief and low self-esteem. I have been in private practice since 2019 where I have continued to work with a wide range of issues.

I hold the following qualifications:

Advanced Diploma in Counselling & Psychotherapy - 'Ad.Dip. CP'
Diploma in Hypnotherapy and Counselling Skills - 'Dip Hyp CD'

Fertility2Birth Hypnobirthing Practitioner
As part of my continuing professional development, I regularly attend workshops and seminars to keep up to date with the latest methods and techniques.
