About me

I understand how overwhelming life can become at points in our life and how this can become incredibly consuming. There are some moments in life that are really difficult and in these moments talking to someone may feel needed or in fact just as difficult. I’m here to let you know that that’s okay! Acknowledging the difficulty and also talking about the problems you’re facing will come with time; I will endeavour to provide a safe, confidential and judgement free environment to allow this space for you to explore these moments and be there alongside you.

I’m a Person Centred counsellor working to the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP)’s ethical and legal framework. My way of working is to be guided by you and the journey you take our therapeutic relationship along. My focus will be you and how I can best support you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I completed my Therapeutic Counselling Diploma at New College Swindon after 5 years of training. During the COVID-19 pandemic I undertook a Telephone and Online Counselling course to ensure safe, ethical and legal online work for my clients during such uncertain times.

I receive ongoing training and development to ensure my practice, knowledge and expertise are as up to date as possible. I’ve also completed my Level 5 Children and Younger People in Counselling training to tap into a personal interest; along with an MA in Counselling and Psychotherapy.

During my work as a counsellor I have worked with a variety of different issues, people and ages. From this, I have found that regardless of who walks through my door, I’m incredibly thankful and touched to be a part of their therapeutic process.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
