About me
Hello, a warm welcome to therapy with Katie.
I'm an integrative counsellor, rooted in the person-centred approach whilst also drawing from different theories in counselling because I don't believe there is one size fits all. Together we will work out what is best for you. I offer therapy in a safe, non-judgemental and confidential space. My role is to understand what life is like for you as we work collaboratively to make sense of your experiences and challenges.
I draw from both my personal and professional experiences to build a strong therapeutic relationship which is key to working through your thoughts, feelings and behaviour patterns. This can facilitate personal growth by understanding yourself more fully, thus enabling you to better manage your daily life and relationships.
As a woman and a mother I have a special interest in women's psychological health, particularly through the deeply transformative experience of perimenopause and menopause. Also as a physical therapist for 30 years I am well attuned to how our bodies pain patterns and diseases are linked to our mental well-being and how this can be addressed.
If you are feeling stuck, struggling with low self worth or lack of self esteem, talking through these issues and understanding the root cause can start to shift your mindset.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Walk and Talk therapy. If the therapy room feels claustrophobic, walk and talk offers you the opportunity to be outside and engage with nature and all that it offers. Walking is therapy. The natural bilateral movement, feeling the sun on your skin or the wind in your hair, helps you process difficult emotions, with the knowledge you are also with a safe, trained therapist.
