About me

Hello, I am Kathryn. I offer weekly, individual and couples counselling in the centre of Newark on Trent, and online with clients based anywhere.

COUPLES COUNSELLING

Relationships are beautiful, messy, and deeply human. Silence can grow between two people who once couldn’t stop talking, and resentment can sneak in where laughter used to thrive. Your relationship will bring its own rhythm, history, and hopes.

I will listen closely, ask the hard questions gently, and help you both feel safe enough to be honest. My sessions are a mix of deep emotional work and practical tools you can use outside the therapy room.

My role is to walk alongside you—not to fix you, but to empower you to understand yourself and your partner more deeply.

What I Help With:
* Feeling disconnected or misunderstood
* Constant arguments or silent tension
* Rebuilding after betrayal or infidelity
* Navigating major life changes together
* Exploring intimacy and sexual connection
* Pre-marital exploration

I work with all types of intimate relationships and I am non-judgmental about alternative relationship styles.

The cost for couples counselling is:

Couples  Counselling 1 hour - £75

Couples Counselling 1 hour on Saturday mornings - £95

Online therapy
Online counselling for couples can be especially convenient when you're both trying to work around your professional or caring schedules.

INDIVIDUAL COUNSELLING

I welcome you to explore any issues that are causing you distress. Your life is unique and I will be alongside you as you reflect on patterns, changes and feelings of 'stuckness' in your life. You may want to use this time to talk about a specific issue or maybe you would like some space to look at your life in depth. I aim to offer you the support to talk things through to try and make some sense of it all to enable you to move forwards with confidence.

I believe in the power of compassion and I will listen with an open mind to your experience. This can be a powerful, holding experience and can help to increase your own self-compassion which can have ripple effects throughout your life.

My goal is for you to feel respected and safe to embark upon your own journey of self-discovery and healing. Although I will be using theory in our work together, our time together will be to support you to find the best way forward for you.

I work with a range of clients with a variety of needs (such as anxiety, low mood, depression, relationship issues and ADHD) but have a great deal of experience working with bereavement and loss. Experiencing a loss can be one of the toughest life challenges. I can be with you as you move through the human experience of mourning and help you, very gently, to learn to live with the loss.

Emotional Freedom Technique or 'tapping'

I also offer the Emotional Freedom Technique as part of our sessions. It is a self-help method that blends elements of acupressure, cognitive therapy and exposure techniques to help you to manage emotional distress, physical pain, phobias and limiting beliefs.
