Kathleen Blades
About me
I’m Kathleen, a Drama and Movement Therapist trained at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama.
Drama & Movement Therapy is a form of Psychotherapy. It encourages free expression and self-realisation through story, image, character, movement and play. The Arts Therapies provide safe, non-judgemental spaces to explore the self with and without words. No drama experience or skills are necessary to participate.
People might choose Dramatherapy to heal from past trauma, manage anxiety and depression, understand relationships, recover from addiction, find a sense of self, for example. The reasons for referral are endless. This practice is non-judgemental, intuitive and healing.
Dramatherapy is an Arts Therapy protected and regulated by the HCPC.
Video call sessions combine talking with creative exercises and visualisations. Online Therapy ensures we are able to work together even if we are in different locations or in lockdown.
I host remote sessions from my home office. The sessions will remain confidential as with face-to-face. For online therapy, all you need is a device and a private space.
Please note: I only see adolescents and adults for online therapy.
Support Groups are a space for people who are feeling isolated, overwhelmed or anxious to come together and find support from a community. Support groups are not therapy groups.
Group runs for 6 weeks online via Zoom, at a time to suit the group, usually weekday evenings (GMT). Each session lasts 1hour 30minutes.
Before the group meets for the first time, I will meet with every group member for an individual video call lasting around 30minutes for an assessment/ introduction.
