About me

I am part of a group of Art Therapists working together as Creative 4 You. Art Therapy doesn't need any "skill," and the focus is not on making "good" art work but on using art materials to express feelings and tell your story. I work by encouraging creative expression and reflection skills, which supports the processing of difficult thoughts, feelings and traumatic experiences. Because the focus is on the art work produced, not the person, art therapy can be seen as a "gentler" therapeutic intervention. As your therapist I can support you with a range of symptoms, and I want to help you to build an inner voice for yourself that is compassionate, confident and knows your worth. You deserve a life that holds joy, let's build that together.

Training, qualifications & experience

I trained at Sheffield Hallam University, and am a qualified Art Psychotherapist who is HCPC registered. I am also a BAAT member.

I have training in supporting people with trauma-related issues and processing neurodivergent experiences through a person-centred, non-directive, humanist approach.

I draw on Internal Family Systems, DBT, and Narrative therapeutic modalities to support my client work, but strongly acknowledge that no one modality is perfect or applicable for all clients.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

HCPC
Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.

They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.

Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
