About me

Counselling is really normal, and completely transformational all at the same time. I offer you a safe, confidential space to be you. Here we can explore what is troubling you, what's working for you and what isn't; who you are, and what you want out of life. Give yourself the time to simply sit down, breathe and talk freely.

I am a warm, thoughtful, sensitive, and empathic therapist, and I bring compassion, intuition, creativity, humour, and an eye for life’s details into my practice. Alongside my formal training I draw from a broad life experience including motherhood, travel, a career in cake design, and my own therapeutic journey.

My core training is in Transactional Analysis (TA), and I use an integrative therapeutic approach based upon what will best work for you. TA is a humanistic and compassionate theory that supports individuals to improve their relationships, communication, work life, personal anxieties, and account for the past. I work collaboratively, meaning that you and I are actively engaged in the therapeutic process. I provide support and challenge to help you grow, and make changes in your life.

Research shows that the relationship between therapist and client is the most important factor in determining therapeutic outcomes. With this in mind, I offer a half price initial session, so that we can get to know each other, discuss what you'd like help with, and decide whether to work together.

If you would like to email or telephone me to arrange an appointment, please get in touch.

I offer daytime appointments on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, and some evening appointments.

Training, qualifications & experience

  • I hold a diploma in Transactional Analysis Counselling, and a diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy. I also have a certificate in Working With Couples.

Alongside my private practice, I was one of the counselling team at Carer Support South Lakes. I've now completed over 1000 client hours.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
