About me

I offer an open, collaborative space, where we can make sense of what you're struggling with and find ways forward together.

People often come to me struggling with issues related to depression, anxiety, trauma/PTSD, relationship problems, interpersonal problems, attachment difficulties, low self-esteem, emotion regulation, sex and sexuality, work stress and/or life transitions. Some other people simply have a sense that something feels "wrong" and seek a space to explore that.

Approaches

I draw on a range of approaches, depending what feels like the right fit for the person:

Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT) - CAT looks at patterns in how we relate to ourselves and how we relate to other people. In CAT, we aim to process and better understand unhelpful patterns by making links to your past. We then look for ways together to break the unhelpful patterns in the present and do things differently going forward. I have more information about CAT on my website if you would like to know more.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) - For certain issues people come with, CBT or third-wave CBT approaches can be the most applicable. CBT is goal-orientated and focused on making changes to your behaviour, thinking patterns and lifestyle.

Integrative - Sometimes people just need an open explorative space to work through something. I can offer this and weave in strands from different applicable approaches as we go.

Practical details

I offer a free 15-minute initial phone call for us to get a sense of whether I can offer something helpful to you. It also gives you a chance to get a feel of me interpersonally and whether you might like to work with me as a therapist, before committing to a session. (There is of course no pressure to proceed if you decide it is not the right fit when we meet in person. I know that finding the right therapist can be highly personal.)

My private practice is located a 1-minute walk from Homerton station.

I have availability to take on new clients from the start of June. Session times available on Thursday lunchtime and afternoons.

Training, qualifications & experience

I completed my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at UCL between 2015 and 2018. I’ve been practising as a Clinical Psychologist since. In that time, I’ve completed a further 2-year specialist training in Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT). I’ve also done Part 1 and Part 2 training in EMDR.

Member organisations

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

HCPC
Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.

They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.

Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.

ACAT
The Association of Cognitive Analytic Therapy (ACAT)

The Association for Cognitive Analytic Therapy (ACAT) is a registered charity. They welcome members of the public, health professionals, ACAT accredited professionals, and anyone interested in finding out more about CAT. They list CAT practitioners.
