About me

You've been holding things together for a long time but lately, it's becoming increasingly overwhelming. Reaching out can feel daunting but you don't have to have the perfect words - just a wish for things to feel easier...

Hi, welcome.

I'm a qualified counsellor, psychotherapist, also a fellow human being and I can offer you a welcoming environment where you may talk things through at your own, unique pace. Sessions are held in-person in Nayland near Colchester (CO6) or online, with evening sessions as well as daytime available.

My style of therapy is based on the relationship where together we build a trusting, therapeutic bond, I won't offer quick-fixes or 'coaching'. I provide a down-to-earth, easy to talk and non-judgemental relationship, a place for you to feel deeply respected and understood for your own unique life experience.

With consistency, this will support your own natural capacity for healing and growth that actually lasts. I will not tell you what to do or suggest how to live your life. Instead, I offer a private space to focus on you and listen, however you arrive - where trust and connection can deepen.

About you
Life might be feeling complex and challenging, I imagine that's what brings you to read this right now.

Maybe you're having problems within your family, at work or going through a life transition. Are you feeling sad, angry or stuck? Lonely?

From my perspective, no problem or feeling is unimportant. I completely understand that initially contacting someone for support can be very daunting (I've been in this position myself) but it's the first step to positive, lasting change.

Why work with me?
Together, we can work towards easing the challenges you are facing. I can "walk" beside you, helping them to feel more manageable. Effective, ethical and confidential counselling with myself has the potential to;

  • Increase your sense of self-worth and identity.
  • Improve the quality of your relationships.
  • Help you make sense of your feelings and behaviours.
  • Experience a general decrease in distress.

Next steps
If it feels right, I'd love to hear from you. We can either arrange a free 15 minute, no obligation phone call at a suitable time to discuss any questions or if you prefer, we can simply arrange our first session via email or text if this feels easier. You don't have to go through this alone.

Please take a look at my website for more information about me and how I work, you can contact me through there too.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
