About me
Hello, I’m Karl, a qualified and compassionate counsellor dedicated to supporting individuals in a safe, non-judgmental, and empathetic environment working in both the Grimsby and Louth areas.
My approach is person-centred, meaning that you are in control of your therapeutic journey, and our sessions will focus on your unique experiences, challenges, and goals.
Life can sometimes feel overwhelming or confusing, and it’s natural to need support during these times. Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, depression, grief, relationship issues, or navigating a significant life change, I provide a space where you can explore your feelings and develop a deeper understanding of yourself.
I am a proud member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and adhere to their ethical framework, ensuring a professional and confidential service. As a Neurodivergent Aware and Kink Aware counsellor, I also offer a uniquely inclusive perspective to support clients from diverse backgrounds and life experiences.
What I Can Help With
I work with clients facing a variety of challenges, including but not limited to:
- Anxiety and depression
- Suicidal thoughts and self-harm
- Trauma and loss
- Stress and anger
- Relationship challenges
- Infertility and grief
- Personal identity and self-esteem
My Approach
As a Therapist I work in an integrative way, I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches to best suit your individual needs. My core practice is person-centred counselling, which prioritises your voice and experiences in the therapeutic process. I also integrate cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) techniques when helpful, providing practical tools to address negative thought patterns and behaviours.
I believe that effective therapy is built on trust, collaboration, and understanding. I work at your pace, offering gentle guidance as you explore your feelings and uncover strategies to help you navigate life’s difficulties.
Accessibility and Practicalities
- I offer flexible counselling options to suit your needs:
- In-Person Sessions: Held in a comfortable and private space.
- Online and Telephone Counselling: Accessible to clients who prefer remote sessions.
- Home Visits: Available for those who may find it difficult to travel to sessions.
Why Choose Counselling?
Counselling provides a unique opportunity to pause, reflect, and process life’s challenges with the support of a trained professional. Reaching out for help can feel daunting, but it’s a brave step toward positive change. I’m here to listen without judgment, support your growth, and help you find strategies that work for you.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
