About me

I have a very gentle, calming and grounding presence which people have said makes them feel safe and relaxed.

I'm in my mid-40s, a father of three children, from teenagers to toddlers, and although I'm in a happy and secure place now, I've been through enough turmoil in my life to be able to empathise with whatever you've got going on. In particular, issues with addiction, anxiety and panic attacks, long-term depression, having been a victim of domestic abuse and challenges with parenting, are all things with which I have unfortunately had to deal with personally. I hope these facts will enable me to be accepting and able to help others who are experiencing similar issues.

My approach to counselling is rooted in understanding and compassion, I won't judge but rather, am curious to know how you experience things. With space and time to go through everything, I hope you’ll be more able to connect the dots and make sense of it all. I believe my counselling approach will help you to feel better precisely because I won't tell you how you are supposed to be. I believe that you already know that - and I will stay with you as we piece it together.

If this sounds like a good approach for you, I will be delighted to offer a free introductory call. Please reach out so we can see if we're a good fit.

Training, qualifications & experience

I began my practice as a facilitator and coach in 2016. I started training to be a counsellor in 2021 and gained my CPCAB Level Four Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling in 2024. I completed a Level 5 Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling in 2025. I have worked with clients as a counsellor for over 200 hours.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
