About me

Are you finding it difficult to cope with at the moment? Do you feel stuck, confused, broken or stressed? Perhaps you’re bothered by overwhelming thoughts or emotions and feel anxious, unhappy or depressed. Or perhaps you’re experiencing low self-esteem or not feeling good enough.

When life throws challenges our way, whether it is due to past experiences or recent events, it can leave you feeling alone, hopeless and unable to find a way forward. If this is you, you are not alone. Change is possible. Let me help you find a way through.

I can work with you to help regain control, break negative patterns, find solutions and become the person you were always meant to be - who you want to be. You already have the answers inside you, you just need help to explore things and bring them to the surface to put them into action.

HOW DO YOU WORK?

Talking to a therapist can be a daunting task. Essentially, I’m a stranger. But it is a relationship like no other. When we talk to friends or family, sometimes we filter our experience, so we don’t hurt or offend them. By having a safe, non-judgemental space to share how things have affected you genuinely and without filters, it can help you feel heard and understood, sometimes for the first time.

I work integratively, which means I can tailor how I work according to what you need. My overall aim is to see things as if I was looking through your eyes, as if I was walking in your shoes. But perhaps you’d like strategies to build confidence or cope with overwhelming feelings or anxiety. Or maybe you want to identify patterns and track back to root causes so you can work out a way forward. Or look at inner child work to resolve negative experiences from childhood? Whatever you are looking for, if you are willing to explore, find answers and then make the changes you want to, your wellbeing can improve and you can find more joy and fun in your life.

Sometimes clients find it difficult to find the right words – or to know where to start. Creative ways of working such as drawing, working with objects and cards, visualisation, body work, journalling and sand therapy can help you express your experience.

Whatever methods I use, we decide this together. I may offer ideas and strategies, but I encourage you to find what works for you. You are in control of what you share, how we work with what you bring, and how slow or fast we work through things. I am led by you.

WHAT CAN I SEE YOU ABOUT?

I work with adults and young people experiencing a range of issues; trauma, stress, loss of purpose, low self-esteem, grief, redundancy, suicidal ideation, self-harm, bereavement, anxiety, depression, chronic illness, relationship problems, abuse, depression, divorce or separation, loneliness, miscarriage and pregnancy related issues, narcissism.

I have lived experience and have worked for many years with these issues: ADHD, Autism, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, Neurodiversity. It is very common to feel misunderstood and like you don’t ‘fit in the same box’ that society wants you to. I can work with you to help you understand yourself, what you need and to help you feel validated. You are enough – in fact – did you know you had superpowers too? Perhaps you just need help to find them.

I am a spiritual person who is comfortable talking about existential beliefs and experiences, whether that be religion, spirituality or unexplained phenomenon. However, if you don’t believe in this, don’t let that put you off working with me. It’s not something I would bring up in sessions. That would be up to you, as it’s your session, not mine.

The end goal of therapy is to empower you to give yourself tools to succeed without me – so you can love and nurture yourself long term. Isn’t that we all want? But the journey looks different for everyone. Counselling can be on a short-term basis or it can be longer term Psychotherapy, which helps you explore things affecting you in more depth, depending on what you need.

I feel privileged to work as a psychotherapist and counsellor and love the work I do and would love to work with you. When you’re ready to take the next step, contact me for a free 20 minute call by phone or online. It’s your chance to see if you like what I can offer, ask any questions, and see if we’re a good fit. I look forward to hearing from you.

WHERE CAN I SEE YOU?

I offer 50 minute sessions face to face in Derriford, Plymouth or via Zoom or  Telephone across the UK (for £50 per session). I am available 9:00am to 5pm on Wednesday, 4pm to 8pm on Thursday and 9am to 1pm Friday. However, I may also be able to arrange days and times outside those stated too.

HOW OFTEN DO I SEE YOU?

In our first session, we would discuss what you would like out of counselling and see how this may be achieved. If we feel that we both feel we are happy with this, then further sessions can be booked. It is up to you how often to book - weekly, fortnightly, monthly etc. There is no obligation at any point to continue, as I feel it is important for you to make sure that I am the right therapist for you before you book sessions.
