About me

Hello, thank you for taking the time to look at my profile, I hope you find it suits your needs.

Face to face clients have now resumed (from 12th April). I have a counselling room in Wyken which is fully Covid compliant and safe to use. Zoom sessions are still available if preferred.

I am a qualified and experienced counsellor, accredited by the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) since 2008. I have been working in private practice with individual adults and young people since 2004. I am also qualified to supervise the work of other counsellors.

By continually keeping up to date with additional training over the years I have accumulated a skill base, which includes CBT, that allows me to work with my clients in ways which best suit their needs.

I work with most issues and difficulties that can present in our lives at any given time but will also signpost and refer to other, more specialized agencies, if I feel you would benefit from them more.

I feel everyone is totally unique in both their experiences and the way they interpret them, and will therefore work alongside you in tailoring the therapy in a way that suits you best.

I am aware that sometimes the decision to attend counselling can be quite difficult.

If you are unsure if counselling is right for you at this moment in time and would like to talk this through, or would just like to take the plunge and book an appointment please contact me on 07749 115951 or email karenclark68@aol.com.

If I am with a client please leave a message and I will contact you as soon as I am free.

Thank you.

Member organisations

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Other areas of counselling I deal with

General or multiple issues that don't fit into a category!

If I feel another agency or practitioner would benefit you more than I could, I would discuss this with you and sign post you accordingly.
