About me

Counsellor, Psychotherapist & Registered Member MBACP (Accred)

If you have been struggling and feeling overwhelmed, counselling can help you to find a way forwards. I will support and help you to make sense of your thoughts and feelings by offering a non-judgmental, confidential place for you.

Sometimes we just need a place without the pressure of responsibilities, a space to have for ourselves, away from the stresses of our usual routine and commitments.

By talking things through together, counselling can often release the pressures and emotions you may be experiencing, which so often can create a sense of relief and clarity.  Paving the way for you to explore how changes and strategies can help you to feel ease, cope and move forward.

I have supported many clients coping with many challenges but by far the most common are anxiety and stress-related issues. The pressures of day-to-day living can really prove so challenging within our relationships, ourselves and everyday lives. I hope to help you to explore how you can feel back in control when sometimes it feels like you're not.
I know it can be daunting to take the first step to ask for support, so I offer the option of a free 20-minute confidential telephone consultation before any session.

I am a registered and BACP accredited counsellor/psychotherapist, trained as an Integrative counsellor/psychotherapist. I utilise Person Centred, CBT and Psychodynamic therapies to help my clients gain insights, and address problems and worries, with a non-judgmental, honest and sensitive approach.

We may also work creatively in a number of different ways, such as using artwork, objects and journaling to assist you in exploring your feelings.

I have particular experience supporting clients with:
Anxiety, Bereavement, Depression, Energy Healing, Holistic Wellbeing and Spirituality, Loss, Personal Development, Relationship Issues, Self Esteem, Substance Dependency & Addiction(s), Stress, Trauma, Work & Exam Stress-related issues and concerns Young Adults face.

I work from my two counselling rooms accessible from Northwich and surrounding areas:

Serenity Counselling Services (Cheshire), Wincham, Northwich, Cheshire, CW9 6EP

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
