About me
Hello, my name is Julieanna Danquah (You can call me Julie.) and I am a qualified Therapeutic Counsellor.
Life can be challenging and sometimes overwhelming, leaving us feeling distressed, anxious and hopeless. If this is you, then talking and sharing the weight of your concerns can help you find a way to process, accept and learn to cope with those challenges. I offer a warm, safe, confidential and non-judgemental space for you to share your thoughts and feelings, I am empathetic to your individual experience and I understand the importance and the impact that culture, religion and gender have on your lived experiences. As an Integrative Counsellor I draw on different theoretical models to best suit your needs, I work collaboratively to ensure you get the best out of our work together.
I am passionate about helping my clients find the best way to navigate their lives in a way that promotes their overall well-being and peace of mind. Through honest exploration, reflection and increased self-awareness I support you to better understand yourself. I offer weekly long-term or short-term counselling sessions, which are face-to-face, online, or telephone sessions of 50 minutes.
If you are looking for a counsellor that can help and support you in achieving your goals then please send me an email or give me a call. We can arrange a free informal chat of up to 15 minutes and then you can decide if you feel I am the right counsellor to help you on your journey.
Training, qualifications & experience

I have experience working in a Low-Cost counselling setting and IAPT NHS talking therapies. I have worked with clients with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, low self-esteem, abortion, relationship issues and more.
I also have two years of experience as a listening volunteer at Samaritans, supporting callers in distress and often in crisis.
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
