About me

Welcome! I am an Integrative Counsellor/Psychotherapist offering short & long term therapy for Adults, Children & Young People with a diverse range of issues.  I work from my private practice and in different locations in North Devon, in person, online, outside 'walk & talk' and within schools.

Are you feeling so stressed it's hard to function?  Lost your way?

You are not alone. Counselling can help!

Life is complex. Feeling anxious, angry and sad are normal human responses to everyday challenges. But feeling constantly overwhelmed can lead to physical, mental and emotional burnout. Reaching out for support is a brave step forward and finding the right counsellor can be transformative.

The key to healing and growth is building a strong client/counsellor partnership. My aim is for you to feel comfortable to explore thoughts and feelings without judgement, so we can unravel what seems complex to bring more clarity and calm.

Early relationships, traumatic experiences and ongoing stress can affect our ability to regulate emotions, setting patterns for how we approach life. We tend to repeat patterns that are familiar, despite them holding us back. I can help you move forward exploring any negative patterns, underlying issues and triggers, as well as developing positive strategies.

I can support you to identify your priorities, strengths and values to feel motivated to set boundaries and goals. This is the foundation to build confidence and resilience to start thriving in all aspects of your life.

Training, qualifications & experience

  • BA Hons
  • Advanced Diploma in Counselling/Psychotherapy
  • NCPS Accredited & Registered member
  • Advanced Specialist Diploma in Counselling Children & Young People
  • I run a private practice and also work freelance within schools. My previous work experience includes counselling at TOR Support (11-18 year olds) and North Devon Against Domestic Abuse (NDADA).  Specialist support at Aspire Independent Social Work Services, and United Response.

Specialist training in: complex trauma, domestic abuse, attachment & childhood development. Extensive experience working with families and within schools, especially supporting those affected by past and present trauma and adverse childhood experiences (ACEs).

Integrative counsellor: I am trained in different approaches including Person Centred Therapy, Gestalt, CBT, Transactional Analysis. This means I can work flexibly to suit each individual's unique circumstances and needs.

Creative Techniques: arts & crafts and sand tray can be effective to reflect and communicate stories/memories, when it is hard to identify feelings and verbalise thoughts. Clients dealing with trauma and anxiety say this helps to process and cope by accessing hidden emotions, without needing words.
