About me

I understand that reaching out for therapy can feel daunting. But by taking that first step and getting in touch, you're already giving yourself the support you deserve. Together, we will work at a pace that feels comfortable for you, focusing on the areas where you need help. This will be a space free from judgment, where you will find compassion and understanding.

I offer a warm, calm, and supportive environment where you can explore the challenges that have led you to seek counselling. Life impacts us in many ways—physically, mentally, and emotionally—and sometimes it can feel overwhelming. By using the arts alongside traditional talking therapy, we can create another way for you to express yourself and explore your difficulties.

Using the arts in therapy can be especially helpful for those who have experienced trauma or difficult life events. It provides a safe, unpressured space where you can express and process emotions that may be hard to put into words. This approach allows complex feelings to be understood and worked through, which can be especially helpful when you're feeling overwhelmed. Using the arts can help you regain a sense of control, something that trauma and life challenges often take away. Working together, we can explore your life and relationships from new perspectives, making it easier to reshape your story and explore your experiences in a way that feels more manageable.

I provide a non-judgmental space where you can share your experiences and feel truly heard and understood. Whether you're facing relationship difficulties, struggling with anxiety, anger, healing from trauma, or dealing with low self-esteem, therapy offers a place where we can work together to address these issues and help you regain peace and control.

I am trained in integrative therapy with a creative approach, working in a person-centred way.

What does this mean for you? It means I draw from a variety of therapeutic methods to meet your unique needs, creating a space that is personalised just for you. As your therapist, I believe the relationship we build is the foundation of our work together. I’ll tailor each session to your specific needs, ensuring you feel fully supported throughout your journey.

My goal is to offer you the qualities I would want in a counsellor: kindness, curiosity, honesty, and warmth. Most importantly, I want you to feel supported and know that you are not alone.

You do not need to be good at or have any experience of the arts.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Further information

Additionally, I am a qualified teacher and have a great deal of experience in working with those students who are neuro diverse and those who have special educational needs. I am also experienced in working with students and families who are out of school with emotionally based school avoidance, anxiety or have been excluded.

I am able to combine this experience with counselling. I can offer workshops and small group sessions using the arts therapeutically for wellbeing and mental health for children, adolescents, young adults and adults.
