About me
Hi I'm Julia. Welcome to my profile page.
I am a qualified counsellor and psychosexual relationship therapist working with individuals and couples.
I understand that life can be a struggle and overwhelming at times and sometimes we can feel stuck or lost. It may feel like you're not living the best version of yourself or there may be something getting in the way of how you want to live your life. This inner tension can have an impact on all aspects of our life and it can affect our work, family and relationships. Although you may be surrounded by people, you may feel that you're not seen, heard or understood.
My core approach is humanistic existential. I work in a way that helps my clients understand how they experience their internal and external worlds and any patterns of behaviour that might be having a negative affect on their relationships. I believe that understanding ourselves better leads to self-awareness and empowers us to take more control of ourselves and our lives.
As a sex and relationship therapist, I have experience working with sexual issues, such as erectile dysfunction, ejaculatory issues, vaginismus, dyspareunia, low libido and loss of intimacy. I have a passion for sex therapy and use an integrative approach. I understand it can be difficult to talk about sex and intimacy and I'm here to help you communicate the problems you're having, and to guide you in finding ways to get your sex life back on track.
Relationships are difficult! Are you experiencing issues around communication, conflict, betrayal, loss of trust, or a clash of values? I provide a safe, non-judgemental space for you to explore the issues you are having. I can help you improve communication, increase empathy and give you relationship tools and techniques that will help you to talk to each other about difficult issues without it turning into an argument or escalating into conflict.
I have worked with couples where one or both partners are neurodivergent, therapy often helps to increase understanding between the couple.
I have experience working with trans and non-binary folk and have helped people explore and understand their gender identity and/or sexual identity.
As a counsellor, I'm here to listen to you and I won't judge you. I believe the therapeutic relationship between the client and counsellor is of utmost importance and I invite you to reach out for an introductory session to see if we are the right fit for each other. The thought of therapy can be daunting and it's important you feel comfortable with your counsellor before committing to sessions. I am warm and open, and I want to get to know you so I can understand things from your perspective.
I work with clients collaboratively and empathically and hold a safe, confidential space in which my clients can express how they really feel about the difficult issues they face.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
COSRT is the UK’s leading membership organisation for therapists specialising in sexual and relationship issues.
All members must abide by their Code of Ethics and the performance of accredited members is regularly monitored.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
