Hello, I’m Julia. Thank you for giving me some of your time.
If you’re investigating psychotherapists right now, something in your life isn’t working. It may be that you’re struggling with feelings of depression or anxiety. Perhaps you’re having difficulties in your relationships, or at work. You might be carrying wounds from the past that you’re unable to let go of, or stored experiences are preventing you from leading the life you wish for yourself. Perhaps your coping mechanisms are no longer working or have become destructive, or maybe you feel there is something more that is calling to you, but you don't know what that something is.
I am a transpersonal psychotherapist combining psychotherapy with coaching. I take an integrative approach to my work, meaning that I will encourage you to consider all aspects of your life. We will explore your current concerns, but may also talk about your childhood, how you feel about life’s big questions, who you have become and who you want to be.
We will not only be travelling backwards; I also aim for your therapeutic experience to be optimist and forward-gazing. I provide a warm, safe and non-judgmental space where you can bring whatever you need. We will use our time together to forge a possible path towards a happier and more fulfilling life.
Training, qualifications & experience
Before my life as a psychotherapist, I worked in advertising and PR. I chose to leave the corporate world, and eventually London, to work more closely with people, and live more closely to nature.
I have been a volunteer at Maytree, a respite centre for people in suicidal crisis, and have worked as a psychotherapist and counsellor for women at Kingston Women’s Centre. I have mentored students with disabilities through their time at university and have supported and coached clients through challenging life transitions such as bereavement, pregnancy and divorce. I am also certified in meditation training and development, and frequently bring these practices into my work.
In 2014 co-founded Transform Counselling, a not-for-profit low cost counselling service offering affordable depth therapy to those who would not otherwise have access to it. Transform was created as an answer to the lack of accessible long-term counselling for people on lower or no income, and hinges on the philosophy that emotional and psychological wellbeing should be available to all.
While I remain closely involved with Transform, today I work with my clients privately, offering a blend of psychotherapy, coaching and mentoring, designed according to their unique needs.
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
Areas of counselling I deal with
One-to-one psychotherapy sessions in-person, online or by phone £85
Empowerment coaching sessions £111 (min set of 3)
Intuitive Walking from £111
I practice from a beautiful eighteenth century farmhouse located just outside the picturesque village of Essendon, close to Hertford, Welwyn and Hatfield, and with easy links to London. It is a peaceful and tranquil place surrounded by trees and fields, where we can meet privately and in comfort, and make use of the outdoor world if the moment takes us.
I also offer sessions online or by phone for those who are unable to meet in person but would still like to work with me. While in-person sessions create a certain dynamic, I have found that remote sessions also offer their own kind of energy that is equally as transformative.
Other Wellness Services:
In addition to transpersonal psychotherapy, I provide quick-fire empowerment coaching sessions. These sessions are solution-driven, forward facing and designed to work over a shorter time-frame by focussing on the specific things you need an immediate boost, direction or impetus in. A minimum of three sessions are recommended to ensure we can fully get to the heart of the issue, find the clarity we are looking for, and identify your most powerful route forward.
I am passionate about nature and its ability to teach us about ourselves, and so also offer Intuitive Walking; one off nature-based sessions where we will walk together, be inspired and guided by the natural world around us, and make a deep enquiry into the questions you would like to work through.
If you are interested in working with me and would like to find out a little more about any of the services I provide, I offer consultations free of charge and without any obligation. Please do get in touch to arrange.
I very much look forward to hearing from you.
