About me

I am a warm, understanding and professionally qualified BACP Registered Counsellor & Psychotherapist.

I help clients to make the changes they want to make and offer a safe, confidential space to unpack the things that are causing you pain or difficulty. Areas of work include:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Low Self-Esteem
  • Relationship Difficulties
  • Trauma and Abuse, including Domestic Abuse and Childhood Sexual Abuse
  • Bereavement and Loss
  • Issues around Gender and Sexuality
  • Identifying and Fulfilling your Potential
  • Significant Life Events such as Divorce or Separation
  • Developing your Self-Awareness

I work with individuals aged 18 and over, in private practice in Ripon, North Yorkshire and also as an Associate Counsellor with Wellspring Therapy and Training in Harrogate.

How can I help?

You might decide to come to therapy to work on a specific issue, such as anxiety, relationship problems or following a bereavement. Alternatively, you might feel that your life is not fulfilling and want to explore how to make the changes you want to achieve.

Counselling offers the space to unpack and explore your experiences confidentially, with a professional person who is objective and impartial, supporting you to gain insight and clarity. Counselling can help you to identify and express what is causing you difficulty, and to find your own resources and strength to move forward. While therapy may not be able to change your situation, it can help you to find ways to cope better and make positive changes for the future. Our work together may be just a few weeks, focusing on specific issues, or longer term depending on your needs, working on deep-rooted issues and repeating patterns in your life.

My clients describe finding me warm, accepting and easy to talk to, and feeling comfortable to open up. Many clients describe gaining a better understanding of themselves, as well as improved relationships with partners and family, and finding a way to stay in work or a manage a change of career.

Next steps

For a free, informal, confidential discussion, please email me, or call / text 07756067413. I will be happy to answer any questions that you have, and we can arrange an initial session, either in person or online, to explore what it is that brings you to therapy and how our work together might look. I understand that coming for therapy can be daunting and it is my aim to help you to feel as comfortable as possible.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
