About me

Hello there,

My name is Jordan, and I’m a Person-Centred Counsellor offering a warm, safe and accepting space where you can come exactly as you are.

I understand that taking the first step towards counselling can feel scary. You may not be sure what to expect, or even know exactly what you want to talk about. You don’t need to have everything figured out before you come to counselling, and you certainly don’t need to pretend you’re okay with me.

You can talk, be quiet, laugh, cry, or simply take your time. There’s no right or wrong way to be in our sessions. We’ll work together, at a pace that feels comfortable for you, to explore whatever feels important.

My own experience of counselling gave me a space to slow down, reflect, and explore my thoughts and feelings without judgement. Most importantly, it showed me the value of being truly listened to - not just heard, but understood. That experience inspired me to train as a counsellor, with the hope of offering others the same opportunity to feel supported, accepted and empowered.

Alongside my counselling work, I’m also a professional classical musician, performing across the UK and internationally. Music has been a big part of my life for many years, and I think it has taught me a lot about the importance of listening carefully, being present and paying attention to the things that aren’t always said out loud. These are qualities I bring with me into my counselling work.

Outside of counselling, I’m very much a person with a life of my own, and I think it’s important that you get a sense of the person you might be sitting with, as well as the counsellor.

I offer counselling in person, online or by telephone, so we can find an approach that feels most comfortable and accessible for you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Further information

I am fully insured to practise and committed to maintaining high professional and ethical standards. I undertake regular CPD to keep my knowledge and skills up to date and to continually develop my practice. My practice is also supported through regular professional supervision, providing an important opportunity to reflect on my work, consider ethical and professional issues, and ensure that I continue to practise safely, thoughtfully and effectively.

Together, we can gently explore what you’re experiencing in a space where you can be yourself, without judgement. If you are considering counselling with me, it would be a privilege to walk alongside you and support you in exploring your own journey.
